With the support of Ms. Jeonju’s daughter, Jin Woo gets the video that can be the useful evidence. Besides, he also makes his father’s doctor agree to be the witness for him.
In Ah refuses her role as the prosecutor in the trial and keeps supporting Jin Woo; whereas, Dong Ho has found the truth behind the accident many years ago involving his father and Jin Woo’s family.
Episode 9 ends up with a thrilling scene where Jin Woo suddenly faints in the trial after his memories seem to be faded.
In Episode 8, In Ah manages to locate the killer and keeps track of him, but the killer recognizes it and uses a stone to hit her in the head. In Ah then passes out on the ground and is taken to the killer’s place.
Jin Woo feels something bad happened to In Ah. He uses his memory to recall all the information in the criminal profile as well as details on the way he passed. Finally, he is able to locate the killer and runs as fast as he can to that place. Dong Ho also starts looking for the killer’s whereabouts. Jin Woo and Dong Ho – they depart at the same point, but turn into two different road branches, independently stick at their investigation.
Meanwhile, in a closed room, In Ah wakes up. She says words that provoke the killer with no fear “do you think you’d always get away?”. She asks the killer to tell name of the one who hired him to frame Jin Woo. The killer gets angry and takes a thread to tighten her neck, which makes her become unconscious.
Fortunately, Dong Ho arrives. He uses a fire extinguisher to break up the glass door and rushes in. A scuffle occurs between them; and as a result, Dong Ho successfully controls the killer. The killer is being held by Dong Ho when Jin Woo has just come.
Jin Woo gets close to In Ah, repeatedly calling her name with his worries. Luckily, In Ah comes into her senses and opens her eyes, exhaustedly looking at Jin Woo who is sitting right in front of her.
The killer is arrested and temporarily confined by the police. Joo Il tells the killer to wait and he will take care of the rest. Detective Gwak is also there and urges Joo Il to deal with that incident.
In Ah, Manager Yeon and Attorney Song cheerily pick Jin Woo up from the police station.
When driving, Gyu Man is informed that Jin Woo has been released due to the help of Prosecutor Lee In Ah in finding the culprit. Right at that time, when Gyu Man’s on his anger, a red car runs over his car and encroaches his road lane. He immediately speeds up and stops that car, then gets out of the car and coming towards the red car with a stick in his hand. Like a totally crazy man, he rushes up and jumps on the front of the red car, aggressively beats against the car’s glass as a way to release his extreme anger. After that, Gyu Man leaves, just letting all things behind for his staff to deal with.
Joo Il meets Dong Ho and asks him for the reason he gets involved in that incident. Dong Ho honestly tells Joo Il that he does not want to see him get blood on his hands. Joo Il surely confirms that he has made a right decision that he would never regret; and he gives Dong Ho two options to choose: living a life holding onto Jin Woo or enjoying a well-off life with him under President Nam. Dong Ho keeps quiet because it’s not easy for him to make up his mind.
The daughter of Ms. Jeonju - the killed woman and also the witness at court in Jin Woo’s father’s case – comes to Jin Woo’s office. She gives Jin Woo the phone containing the video that can be used as the evidence. On behalf of her mother, she apologizes Jin Woo for everything happened.
The video is sent to Judge Kang Seok Gyu. In the video, Ms. Jeonju confesses that she didn’t see Mr. Jae Hyuk hiding the weapon or going to the villa that night. Judge Kang, after watching the video, decides to initiate the retrial.
The retrial approval news reaches the Chairman Nam. Gyu Man begs his father for another chance. Chairman Nam gets so furious that he warns not to forgive him if he makes the company affected by this news. Gyu Man once again promises that he will be the winner in this trial.
Jin Woo visits his father and announces him that the retrial will start soon and he is going to be proved that he is innocent. His father looks so panic and is not able to be aware of the situation as well as recognizing Jin Woo.
Knowing that his father’s Alzheimer disease is now at the serious stage, Jin Woo meets the doctor to question him. Jin Woo feels angry because it’s obvious that his father has not gotten the appropriate treatment. But after all, the doctor denies his irresponsibility.
Prosecutor Hong Moo Suk orders Detective Gwak to speed up investigation process for the college student murder case. Whereas, Jin Woo and In Ah have found some documents about the relationship between Prosecutor Hong and Il Ho Group.
In the prison, Seo Jae Hyuk has a serious problem with his stomach. No matter how he hurts, the doctor ignores and gives him no treatment.
Gyu Man threatens to kill Dong Ho if he does not handle the retrial well
Prosecutor Choi is the lawyer for Gyu Man in this retrial. She, Gyu Man and Dong Ho have dinner together and Gyu Man asks Dong Ho to support her in the upcoming retrial.
Dong Ho visits Detective Bae Joon Sik to find details about the car accident he dealt with many years ago. After that he searches for the information relevant to the accident and surprisingly finds that Jin Woo’s family are the victims of the old accident that his father hit with the truck that year. Dong Ho gets shocked when figuring out the fact. He then drops by the prison to visit Jin Woo’s father.
Managing Prosecutor Hong introduces Prosecutor Choi with In Ah and asks her to cooperate with her in the next trial. This time In Ah is forced to take the role of a prosecutor although she never expects that. She feels effortless since she couldn’t be on Jin Woo’s father’s side at the court.
Jin Woo comes to meet his father’s doctor who was the witness 4 years ago. He bares all the doctor’s sin and wants him to be the witness for him in the retrial.
Dong Ho goes to a secret place where he stores a copy of the CD that contains Gyu Man’s confession of killing the college student. He drives around while thinking of Jae Hyuk’s words “I’m thankful because you fought for me. And I’m sorry that I can’t remember you”. Those thoughts are interrupted by a call from Gyu Man who wants to meet him right away.
Gyu Man then visits Jin Woo in his law office, asking him whether he should give him power or money, or both, to drop the case. Jin Woo responds to him that it’s fun to negotiate the price of the murder Gyu Man committed. At that time, Dong Ho arrives. Before leaving, Gyu Man tells Dong Ho to persuade Jin Woo to stop the retrial. Jin Woo wants to hear nothing from Dong Ho and asks him to leave. Dong Ho tells Jin Woo that he really hopes Jin Woo will finish what he couldn’t finish four years ago.
The next day, Jin Woo meets Prosecutor Choi outside the courtroom. She says she has heard a lot about his name as a young talented lawyer. Jin Woo, Prosecutor Choi and Dong Ho enter the courtroom. In Ah thinks of what Prosecutor Hong told her about having to win that case. She comes to the courtroom late but sits among the audience, not undertaking her prosecutor role. Prosecutor Choi has to call for another prosecutor.
The video of the woman is being presented but the prosecution submits evidence that the woman was forced to do that. A witness is invited to the court. He said he saw Jin Woo talking to the woman in the supermarket. Jin Woo denies forcing the woman; and to testify, he calls for the woman’s daughter. She confirms that it’s her who filmed the video as her mom’s wish.
After the court break, Jin Woo calls for Il Ho’s hospital director who is his father’s doctor to be the witness. But suddenly, Jin Woo feels dizzy. Something happens to his mind, which makes him unable to recall things. Memories flash through his mind and then he faints on the ground. Dong Ho and In Ah immediately rush to his side and call out his name with nervousness.
In Ep 8 and 9, Attorney Park Dong Ho leaves a nice image in my feelings. Although he has been known as a lawyer who loves money, I always feel that he is not that bad at all. Back to the murder case 4 years ago, he accepts to be the defense lawyer for Jin Woo’s father because he finds Jin Woo somehow similar to him at his young age. Dong Ho also makes his effort to help his defendant by looking for important evidence even in dangerous situations. However, as we see, he decides to loose in that trial not because of money, it’s because of Joo Il, who he considers as his father. In the last Ep, he helps Jin Woo to escape from Gyu Man. And in this Ep, he shows himself to be a man who still has dignity and emotions. He feels painful when knowing it’s his father’s truck that hit Jin Woo family. Destiny connects him and Jin Woo in an unimaginable way.
Next, I must say that I admire In Ah so much in the way she behaves. She is a woman but decisive and courageous. Even under pressure of power, she chooses not to be the prosecutor in the retrial.
And finally, I feel extremely worried for Jin Woo!!! What happens to him in the trial? Is it a signal for his early Alzheimer inherited from his dad? No, I really don’t expect that. Hope he just gets sick and back to normal soonnnn!
