  • Light vs. dark in new set of posters for Moorim School

    Chungmuro/Film News | January 4, 2016 | 204 viewed

Here we have another (and I’m thinking last) set of promo posters for the fantasy-action teen-centered drama Moorim School—I say last because the drama premieres in another week, so we’re heading into our last wave of promotion for the show. It’s kind of an odd juxtaposition when you compare the two posters to each other, since one looks dark and serious like some kind of teenaged noir, while the other is campy and colorful.

The ever increasing popularity of Korean webtoons within and outside of Korea means drama adaptations of them are becoming a standard. These shows are also bringing in new genres, such as "Incomplete Life", "Last", "Awl" and more. At the same time, romance remains a drama staple and therefore a genre adapted often. "Cheese in the Trap" is tvN's latest live-action adaptation of a popular romantic webtoon.

  • DRAMA CASTING & NEWS IU, Ji-soo, Kim Sung-kyun for Bu Bu Jing Xin remake Moon Lovers

    Chungmuro/Film News | December 28, 2015 | 313 viewed

We finally have a possible leading lady for Moon Lovers, the Korean drama remake of Chinese time-slip fusion sageuk Bu Bu Jing Xin. IU (The Producers) is currently entertaining an offer to headline opposite Lee Jun-ki (Scholar Who Walks the Night), in what would be her first historical drama. The singer-actress has been involved in some controversy over her latest album this past year, but I’ve always liked her in dramas and think she’d make a good time-traveling heroine who steals princes’ hearts.

    Chungmuro/Film News | December 17, 2015 | 352 viewed

Turns out there’s no such thing as too many cute pictures of Yoo Seung-ho and cat. More stills, more teasers, and more cuddling are ahead for his new cable drama Imaginary Cat, about the healing relationship between cat and human. The short 8-episode drama, based on a webtoon of the same name, is about a webtoon artist who prefers his cat to other people. The cat will get a voice (played by Han Yeri), giving us a playful interpretation of the cat’s side of this quirky love story.
